Miller And Me

Hi, I'm Miller, aspiring blogger, avid lover of music and passionate reader. I'd officially class this blog under lifestyle and mental health among other things. This blog is a collection of my thoughts. A place to talk, listen and be heard. I'd love to hear from you, to create conversation and community.

Journal

As soon as the morning renders me awake, I journal. Stuck in a state between awake and asleep, I scribble whatever pops into my mind onto the page. I believe this helps unblock my 'writing pipes', making way for creative content later in the day. When I'm caught in a morning haze, putting my thoughts on paper helps lift the fog in my mind. It's a great way to start the day and has been proven to release stress. Writing is a big part of my life, it always has been. For as long as I can remember I have loved to write, whether it be journaling, fiction writing or poetry. It helps me organise my thoughts, enables me to better understand what's happening in my life and unleash a part of my creative side.

The Truth // CRPS

I have been keeping something from you, something important to me, that's been happening for awhile now. It's changed my life and has affected my upload schedule among other things. So... Last year in October I suffered a fall off a skateboard. Scans and assessments proved inconclusive. 6 weeks later, mid-November, I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. This condition isn't common and it was a lonely feeling that no one understood.

What Tumblr has taught me

I consider myself an avid Tumblr user. I spend A LOT of my time scrolling through the depths of Tumblr. For those of you who don't know what Tumblr is, it's basically a blogging site, but you don't really blog as such... you re-blog stuff, which is basically forwarding a post on someone else's blog onto yours. It's among the most frequently visited of my social media platforms. Tumblr has taught many things. It has taught me that it doesn't take much to keep me entertained. I have attained the ability to mindlessly scroll through Tumblr for many hours at a time. There's just something so entertaining about gazing at the endless re-blogs on my dashboard. It has taught me how strange the internet and its inhabitants have the capacity to be. There is some weird stuff on the internet and much of it manages to seep its way into the realms of Tumblr. If you're following the wrong blogs you're in for a surprise. Luckily I have never had the misfortune ...

October 11, 2016 // One year later

My mind is full of thoughts but I’m not sure how to put them into sentences. For so long, I’ve wanted to express my experience but I haven’t found the right words. I’ve been away for so long, not just from this blog, but from life as a whole. I last posted on the 5 th of March, 2016, so it’s been a while. An explanation as to why I’ve been away is probably called for. Today, October 11, is an important day. It marks exactly one year since the accident that set me off on this crazy journey. I purposely chose to post today because of this milestone. Since the last time I posted life has taken the most unexpected turn.
