By now I'm sure we are all aware of the destruction and harrowing grief caused in Paris on Friday 13th of November. A series of coordinated attacks were carried out around various places in the French capital, including a football stadium, concert venue and several restaurants. At least 129 have been confirmed dead and 352 are wounded. The greatest bloodbath France has seen since World War II.
The news was devastating and reached out to many people and places in the world. I send my condolences to the families effected. A hashtag circulated around the internet as support for the victims.
But, it is not just Paris that we should pray for. Pray for Lebanon, where bombs exploded killing just over 40 people and getting minimal cover in the news. Pray for Baghdad where a bomb goes off at a funeral taking 18 lives. And finally pray for the grief caused everyday out of greed or insanity. We live in a world full of humans, yet we see no humanity.
It is the world that we should pray for.
