Christmas Things

As Christmas looms closer, mania fills us at the thought of still having to purchase Christmas gifts. Yes, it is that time of the year, rushing around to find that perfect gift. This time of year is a great time of year, everyone's happy and living the Christmas cheer but it can be difficult to think of gifts and if you're anything like me, you're most likely stuck for gift ideas 90% of the time.

Stuck? Look no further! Get the perfect gift with tips, according to Perfectly Unkept.

1) Get an upgraded or improved version of something that they already have.
Receiving an upgrade can be a gratifying surprise on Christmas day. But don't go buying the latest iPhone for an 8-year-old, that's expensive.

2) Buy a popular book or CD of the recipients taste
When I was growing up (and now) books and music were always at the top of my list. For many, reading is a great form of escapism, widening the imagination. It's always cool to have your own little world to retreat in when you read. And it's the same for music. But, it is important buy music according to the taste of the recipient. The other great thing is, generally, books and music aren't that expensive!

3) Ask friends or family what they would like
Just ask. You could get great answers.

4) Make something yourself
I know this can be hard in our cram-packed modern lifestyles, but sometimes a hand-made gift can be just as meaningful as something materialistic. Putting your heart into something can be really meaningful.

5) Give them something practical
Our lives are so busy and we always seem to be in need of something to make it that little bit easier. Offer to do their laundry in the form of a laundry voucher. Other house appliances or handy things can also be useful.

6) Money/Gift cards
Money or gift cards can be great, giving independence to the recipient. This is probably better for someone who isn't super close but still needs a Christmas gift. It's nice to have a well thought out and meaningful gift for closer family and friends.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all my readers!
