Writer's block is the worst...
The inescapable beast that every writer wrestles with. You work has turned to mush. Tireless effort put into this piece and now you can't seem to pluck anything from your head. A sense of defeat I'm sure many writers can relate to. A block, not a word escapes.
Writer's block shows no mercy.
Writer's block is possibly one of the most frustrating things about writing. Not being able to seize the perfect idea with a scientific formula is exasperating. Here's why, because it's not science, it's more of an art. To get better at it, you need practice. Tap deeper, star trying new things. Develop your style and create who you are as a writer.
But what about when it's happening? Here are a few ideas to help conquer writer's block.
I'm sorry for my absence. It's been about three weeks, I think. I know, I'm bad. I can assure that I will try my absolute hardest to post more often.

But what about when it's happening? Here are a few ideas to help conquer writer's block.
- Take a break. Get away from your computer screen. Staring at a flickering cursor probably won't do you too much good.
- Go for a walk. To the park, down the street, anywhere really.
- Change the environment.
- Gather inspiring quotes.
- Minimise or rid distraction. Close tabs on your computer or if you're writing on paper don't have devices near you unless it's an emergency.
- Brainstorm ideas.
- LIsten to music.
- Read a book.
- Freewrite. Give yourself about 10 minutes to write continuously. Write anything that comes out your head. Don't worry about grammatical errors of fancy wordplay, just write.
I'm sorry for my absence. It's been about three weeks, I think. I know, I'm bad. I can assure that I will try my absolute hardest to post more often.
